We are very excited about the format of this year's Michigan Distance Camp. We have scheduled the camp session so that the boys and girls can prepare for the official start of high school cross country.
We have provided the athlete with an outstanding and enthusiastic staff. Our running program of the week will follow a basic structure, but will allow for workload flexibility based on age, ability and previous training levels.
Our goal is to offer the athlete insights into various distance training theories. We will cover topics on hill training, Fartlek training, tempo running, weight training and pool running.
Campers will have access to all facilities used by the University of Michigan cross country athletes, including our weight room and natatorium. Running routes will include trails in the University owned Nichols Arboretum and Matthaei Botanical Gardens.
